Echinaforce® Echinacea tablets are a traditional herbal remedy used for the symptomatic relief of colds, influenza type infections and similar upper respiratory tract conditions.
A relative of the daisy family, is high in anti oxidants. It is most commonly used to help the immune system combat infections & viruses. It has also been used and studied in its ability to help skin conditions and anxiety.
In terms of immunity, Echinacea adapts to individual needs, stimulating an immune response in those with lowered immune mediators and lowering inflammatory mediators when the response to a viral infection is excessive.
This increased inflammatory response was a major factor in those who struggled with COVID.
Studies have also shown that Echinacea can be used as a preventative!
In 2012 a large Echinacea trial comprising of 755 subjects. The study showed that preventative use reduced recurrent colds by 59%, along with severity and duration of symptoms and the need to use painkillers.
Further analysis across six trials showed that Echinacea extract significantly reduces recurrent respiratory infections and consequently the risk of pneumonia or bronchitis.
