Beetroot Powder from Indigo Herbs is a delicious and versatile superfood powder that can be used to enrich many dishes. High in iron and vitamin C, beetroots are legendary for their benefits to the blood and circulatory system.

Beetroots have long been considered an important source of essential nutrients and an exceptional food for the blood.  The root was first cultivated by the Ancient Romans, before this it was the beet greens (also highly nutritious) that were consumed.

Our Beetroot Powder is high in iron and vitamin C, these two nutrients marry together perfectly!  Vitamin C strongly enhances the absorption of iron – iron is an essential mineral chiefly responsible for the formation of haemoglobin which is the primary protein found in red blood cells.  Killer T cells (a type of white blood cell responsible for fighting infections) contain 20 times the amount of vitamin C than other cells, iron rich red blood cells are necessary for providing oxygen to damaged tissues and organs making these two nutrients vital to a healthy immune system.  Among its many other benefits, vitamin C is a powerful anti-oxidant and is crucial in collagen production.

Also a great source of protein and calcium, this nutritious superfood can be enjoyed by adding to smoothies, soups or stews.
